Sanctum Of Shadows

A Guide to the Sanctum of Shadows:
For Those Newly Come Beneath the Veil
This guide was set down not as law, but as counsel. The edicts of the Society are recorded elsewhere, in sterner tomes and by more authoritative hands. What follows is something humbler: a lantern held up in a dark corridor, that you might find your footing without stumbling. Read it once with care, and the hall will feel less strange to you.
Finding Your Way to the Hall
The guild hall of the Norrath Secret Society bears the name the Sanctum of Shadows, and it is the hearth around which this fellowship gathers. There are two roads to its door. The first: travel to the docks of the Commonlands, where passage to the hall may be arranged. The second, and swifter by far: any member standing within one of Norrath's proper cities need only invoke the word of passage, /house, and they will be carried directly to the Sanctum's threshold. Both roads lead to the same fire. Choose whichever the Fates have placed nearest to your feet.
The Attunement Stone
Upon entering the hall, turn your gaze to the left. There you will find the object of attunement. Approach it and attune yourself to the Sanctum. When you have done so, a call to guild hall incantation will be bound to your knowledge and placed ready upon your action bar, that you may return here from any distant corner of Norrath without delay. Do not neglect this step. It is the first thing every new member of the Society should do upon crossing the threshold.
The Portal
Beyond the gate, seek out the portal set into the ground. It is not easily missed. Step upon it and you will be offered passage to the Sanctum's various wings. Two destinations above all others will serve you in the days ahead.
The Crafting Wing
Here dwell the tools of creation. Every crafting station the artisan could require stands ready, alongside a multiforge for more demanding work. Guild hirelings and writ agents are on hand for those who wish to deepen their contribution to the Society's standing, and guild depots hold materials that members have set aside for common use. If your calling draws you to the forge or the workbench, this is where your hours will be well spent.
Pilgrim's Haven
This is the beating heart of the Sanctum, the chamber where most members pass the greater share of their time within these walls. Here you will find the remaining guild depots, a broker for the exchange of goods, a banker to tend your coin, the Guild Buff to fortify you before you venture out, and transportation to carry you beyond the hall's walls when your road calls you elsewhere. The Haven is richly appointed with objects that offer boons and conveniences of various kinds. Ask any officer or senior member if you are uncertain what something does. No question asked in good faith goes unanswered here.
The Deeper Halls
When you have made yourself at home in the crafting wing and Pilgrim's Haven, venture further. The Sanctum holds more than most newcomers expect. There are trophy rooms where the mounted heads of fallen raid quarry stand testament to the guild's long history of hard-fought victories. A training room offers practice dummies for those who wish to sharpen their technique between battles. An altar room houses shrines to all the gods of Norrath, whatever your devotion may be. A showroom displays armor and appearance sets upon their forms, that members may draw inspiration for how they present themselves in the wider world. These rooms are not merely decorative. They are the record of what this guild has done and what it honors.
The Sanctum is yours now. Walk it without haste and let it become familiar to you. It has sheltered many who came before, and it will shelter many who come after. You are part of that continuity now.
Welcome beneath the Veil.
