Hear this, and hear it well.

These halls are not a suggestion. They are not a rumor given mortar and stone. What stands before you is the one true archive of the Norrath Secret Society, sanctioned by the Keeper of the Veil himself, preserved against the long erosion of time by those who understood that a guild without its history is no guild at all, but a ghost that has forgotten its own name.

Every decree herein was written by deliberate hand. Every creed was set down with ink that did not waver. Every chronicle was authored not for the vanity of posterity but for the survival of truth itself. What you find within these tomes is not rumor dressed in fine language. It is not the half-remembered tale of a traveler who passed through our shadow and thought he understood it. It is the record of what we are, what we have been, and what we shall remain, bound into parchment and preserved beneath the steady light of torches that have never been permitted to go dark.

Let the taverns of Antonica have their gossip. Let the crooked alleyways of Freeport breed their lies and let those lies grow fat in the dark until they bloat into legend. We know how it is done. We have watched false histories outlive their makers. We have witnessed men who never set foot beneath our banner speak our name as though they owned it. We have seen our story reach the ears of strangers already twisted past recognition, dressed in the borrowed clothes of things it never was.

We will not permit it.

The Norrath Secret Society has endured across the long, storm-wracked years of this age precisely because it does not allow its foundations to be rewritten by those who find them inconvenient. Our codes are not matters for open debate. Our principles are carved into the bone of this order, and no fashionable revision shall find purchase there. If ever you hear something spoken of us beyond these walls, return here. What is written here is the only account that matters. Every other version is ash on the wind.

Yet this place is not merely a fortress of laws.

Walk deeper into these corridors, past the statutes and the proclamations, past the ranked declarations and the ledgers of service, and you will find something wilder. You will find Norrath itself: maps traced in vivid inks across the skins of ancient beasts, their margins crowded with notes made by hands that no longer draw breath. Quest chronicles whose pages still carry the ghost of urgency, as though the ink has not entirely forgotten the speed at which it was written. Accounts of great conflicts that tremble with the pressure of what was almost lost. The secret arts of forge and loom, preserved in languages older than the cities that built them. The grand tapestry of the ages, stretched from the first shattering dawn of the Age of Destiny to the hour in which you now stand, laid open before any who possess the patience to read it and the wisdom to understand what they are reading.

But above all of this, above every decree and every statute and every carefully archived record of rank and rite, this place was built to hold something that cannot be classified or catalogued with any satisfying precision.

It was built to hold stories.

The stories of those who heard the whisper and followed it into darkness without knowing what waited. The stories of companions forged in the space between one heartbeat and the next during midnight battles in places no map yet named, and in the quiet hours afterward when the fire burned low and no one spoke because words would have broken something fragile. Characters drawn from imagination and tempered across a thousand adventures until they were more real than many things that breathe. Souls whose laughter and grief linger in these pages long after the sessions that produced them have dissolved into memory. These stories are not small things. They are the truest account of what this Society has always been.

Every soul who has walked beneath our banner, past or present, is called to add their voice to this living record. Bring the lineage of your hero. Bring the burden they carry and the question at the center of their life that was never answered. Bring what shaped them before we ever knew their name. Norrath is more than a world to pass through. For those who have given themselves to it long enough, it becomes a second life, written day by day and quest by quest, and it deserves to be set down with the care befitting something real.

Write it. Let it be read. Let it endure.

Seek. Discover. Endure.
