Guild Ranks
Keeper of the Veil - Guild Leader
Do not seek to know him. Know only this: he already knows you.
The Keeper of the Veil is the Unseen Hand, and that is very nearly all that is known of him. He does not lead from thrones nor speak from podiums. He does not announce his arrivals, nor is his departure ever witnessed. He is simply absent, and then present, standing at the edge of firelight, watching with eyes that betray nothing. Members who have walked with the Society for decades confess an unease they cannot name: a prickling at the neck, a stillness in the air that arrives before he does. He speaks rarely. When he does, the room remembers it long after he has gone.
What manner of man stands behind the veil, none can say with certainty. What allegiances shaped him, what shadows forged him, what price he has paid for the knowledge he carries, these things belong to him alone. Questions asked too boldly have a way of going unanswered. Those who have pressed further have had cause to regret their curiosity.
He is the guild's sovereign, its silence, and its warning all at once.
Shadow Councilor - Sr. Officers
(10,000,000 Guild Status Points)
To be named among them is not an appointment. It is a recognition.
One million marks of service does not purchase a seat on the Shadow Council. It earns the right to be considered. Those elevated to this rank have demonstrated something rarer than skill or ambition: they have shown, over years of steadfast service, that their judgment can be trusted when it matters most. They stand in closest counsel to the Unseen Hand, shaping decisions that few within the Society will ever know were made. Masters of their disciplines, long-tested and unshaken, their influence moves through the guild's operations like current beneath still water, invisible yet directing everything. They are its longest memory and its steadiest resolve.
Nightblade – Jr. Officers
(1,000,000 Guild Status Points),
Half a million marks of service earns a blade. What is done with it defines the wielder.
Not all who serve the Society do so in the open. The Nightblades operate where discretion is paramount and silence is survival. They are junior officers in title only. In practice, they are the guild's edge: sharp, deliberate, and rarely seen until the moment they are needed. They have proven themselves not merely through accumulation of status, but through the particular quality of their judgment under pressure. They do not speak often in council, but when they do, the Hand listens. They are the layer between the Society's inner workings and the world beyond its veil, trusted with enough to act, and wise enough to know when not to.
Wraith Lord – Senior Members
(500,000 Guild Status Points)
The Wraithlords are the living memory of the order, custodians of its ancient lore, its forgotten mysteries, and the unbroken chain of rites that bind past to present. They stand as both guardians and guides, shaping those of lesser rank through patient counsel and firm discipline, ensuring that what has endured through the ages shall endure still. To bear this title is to carry the weight of the guild's history in one hand and its future in the other.
Wraithcaller - Members
(100,000 Guild Status Points)
They do not merely remember the past they are its keepers.
Wraithcallers are the beating heart of the Society. They are not merely members who have endured, but those who have invested themselves fully in the guild's purpose, offering their time, their effort, and their loyalty without reservation. Others may pass through the Society's shadow, drawn by curiosity or the promise of companionship, and fade as quietly as they came. The Wraithcaller does not fade. They remain when the roads grow long, when the work is thankless, when the fires burn low and the halls grow quiet. They have shown, through deeds accumulated over seasons and years, that their commitment to the Society is not a passing thing but a settled truth.
What they have built through years of steadfast service forms the foundation upon which the Society stands. The guild's reputation, its strength, its unbroken continuity across the long ages of Norrath's turbulent history, these are not the work of titles or proclamations. They are the work of Wraithcallers, nameless in the chronicles perhaps, but indispensable in fact. To bear this rank is to be counted among those upon whom the guild most truly relies, the enduring core from which all else grows.
Specter – Junior Members
(50,000 Guild Status Points)
Where the light ends, the Specter begins. No wall holds them. No border binds them.
The Specter walks unbound. Where others anchor themselves to a fixed station in service of the guild's ordered progression, these members range freely across Norrath's breadth, unshackled by level or limitation. They are the guild's far-ranging eyes, its nimble hand in distant conflicts, its voice in places where rank alone cannot reach. Versatile by nature and necessity, Specters gather what is needed, go where they are called, and return with knowledge, resources, and hard-won victories that no level-locked brother or sister could obtain. Their contributions are quieter, perhaps, but no less vital. The guild endures in part because they do
Initiate of the Veil - Initiate
(10,000 Guild Status Points)
The Veil parts once. What follows is yours to earn.
The Initiate of the Veil has crossed the first threshold. They have listened, learned, and proven by deed that their presence among the Society is no mere accident of invitation. These newcomers have demonstrated a foundational understanding of the guild's ways and have begun to contribute in earnest, earning their place not by promise alone, but by effort. The Veil does not open for the idle or the untested. That it has parted for them at all speaks to what they may yet become.
Shadowstalker - Recruit
The Society sees you. The question is what it will find

The Shadowstalker stands at the edge of belonging. They have heard the call and answered it, stepping forward from the wider world into the shadow of the Society's banner. Yet the guild does not grant trust freely, and a name alone does not make a member. The Shadowstalker has yet to demonstrate what they are made of. That proof is still owed, and the Society is watching.
